Three Tips to Avoid Long Lines at Disneyland

Disneyland can be an exceptionally fun place to visit. On the other hand, during very busy times of the year, Disneyland can be a miserable place to be. During Summer months when the park is at its most crowded, the lines for rides can be so long that the wait times are often as long as one hour and sometimes up to three hours. Couple this with the hot Summer weather and it doesn't take long to understand just how uncomfortable a Disneyland experience can be. And the problem isn't just with the lines for rides. The lines at restaurants are atrocious during busy times as well, making meal time quite stressful. Additionally, lines at the souvenir shops can be overwhelmingly long. On a busy day at Disneyland, it's very possible to spend a lot of time waiting in lines while accomplishing very little fun overall. However, there are some tricks and secrets to avoiding these awful lines that threaten to ruin your Disneyland fun. Follow these tips to ensure that long lines don't take all the fun out of your next visit to Disneyland.

Get to the park early. Be aware of the time that Disneyland will be opening on the day of your visit, and plan to be at the gate a half hour earlier. This puts you at the front of the line, or close to it. The lines at the entrance gate get unbelievably long during the last half hour before the park opens. And those at the back of the line when the park opens, still have another half hour to wait before they'll get inside. Being as close to the front of the line as possible doesn't just save you from the entrance line. It also saves you from several lines inside the park. If there are one thousand people waiting in line when the park opens, and you get inside before 90% of them, you won't have much of a wait in line for the first several rides you get to, either.
