A Girl's Guide to Google Versus Yahoo!
During my college years (1999 - 2004), I used Yahoo! for everything from e-mail and temporary file storage to a customized place for news, weather, etc. In 2005, I even created a Yahoo! 360 blog as well as an avatar. However, the more I dug into all that
Google has to offer, the happier I've become with their services. Even though there is nothing wrong with Yahoo!'s services, I personally believe that it is wise to choose Google as your web 2.0 home. Here are some reasons why:
1. Innovation, innovation, and more innovation. I've read articles in which it is stated that Google has been playing catch up with Yahoo! for quite some time. The tide has now turned. If you are so inclined, you can check out Google labs. It allows you to have the opportunity to try out new applications in development, as well as provide valuable feedback to the developers. It is my belief that this system has led to quality applications that have slowly been spreading via word of mouth.
