she held her breath
hearing love in the silence between

the hast'ning death
and visions within she had seen.

yet clung to life
to put off inevitable lapse

no matter strife
which often had filled in the gaps.

the heavens boon
bade her rise to their ultimate love.

beneath the moon
she lingered nor ventured above.

the stars stood still
abiding reluctance she felt

and always will.
one day her attachment would melt

that held her there
in matter realms time bound below,

then would she dare
and only then really could know

how great the heart
that had called her to leave the obscene

world and depart.
hearing love in the silence between

the spirit's call
and the sound of her final release

her flesh would fall
her soul know great love and deep peace.
