Kit Kittredge (Abigail Breslin) is a mini reporter. She has a great eye for detail. She also has a great heart for her family and friends. She especially loves her father (Chris O'Donnell). When her father has to leave to find work, Kit and her mother take in borders to get through the Great Depression. Kit Kittredge: An American Girl.

It is children's movie, for sure. But it was a good movie. It was a good movie because it was character driven and that is an important thing. Each character lived within the movie and was believable. The story was set during the Great Depression and that's unique for movies of this generation since most movies that venture to the past go towards the time of Kings and Queens or WWII. So it was cool that this movie ventured through one of America's down times.

Abigail Breslin, Stanley Tucci, Glenne Headly, Jane Krakowski, Julia Ormond, Joan Cusack, Chris O'Donnell, Max Thieriot, Brieanne Jansen, Zachary Mills and Willow Smith all did a great job in connecting with their characters as well as the chemistry between one another.

I think that if you have kids this movie would be good to see because it's entertaining for adults and children. Kit Kittredge: An American Girl was entertaining and fun look at a time where it wasn't so much fun to be an American.
