Do you want to live to be 100? Perhaps everyone wants and cherishes a secret desire to be a centenarian! However, it is not that easy. You have to maintain a controlled diet and exercise to be strong and fit and live up to hundred years. You will be amazed at how some people live up to hundred years or more and stay mobile and fit till their last day! Many people who are above 90 years or close to 100 are an example in themselves. They continue to work and do things which even their juniors fail to do. They continue to drive or their own, go shopping, buy groceries, or visit their relatives' house without anyone's help. There are many centenarian women who still carry on their knitting and cook and manage their household. These senior citizens simply surprise us with their fitness!

This fitness factor of centenarians was evident in the film Titanic, which became immensely popular few years back. Rose DeWitt Bukater or better known as Rose Dawson, who was the central character of the movie was perhaps the most admired character in that film. When she first makes her appearance in the film as the 100 year old woman recalling her past experience, we were pleasantly surprised by her overall mellow demeanor. The light in her eyes radiated over her entire face. She had several wrinkles and lines on her face, but was still very pretty and glowing with life! She was an example of how it is to live to be 100. Gloria Stuart who portrayed that character is close to 100 years, but she drew all attention radiance and defiant spirit.

In real life, people who want to live to be 100 should actually take a lesson from these film or fictional characters. It is never too late to start early. Japanese islands of Okinawa have the world's largest population of centenarians, who still feel very young and active. According to gerontologists, you can actually live to be 100 if you follow some simple steps. There are several biological factors behind reaching 100.
