Golf Survey, Sport, Skill, or Entertainment?

This writer just does not get it about golf, henceforth a survey has been provided by me to readers like you whether golf is a sport, enterainment or a skill.

This writer, does not see golf as a sport. The golfer's do not play in the rain, the golfer's do not trash talk each other, they do not fist fight each other. The golfers-grounds hog a lot of acreage and are not landscaped, but manicured. No doubt what golf is not is cheap.

Sports, as a whole in this writers opinion have gone down hill. Part of playing in sports are dealing with nature's elements. Instead we escape the elements by building domes to keep the rain and snow out. Golf is like the skill of "Pool." Golf is a acquired skill. Golf also is a wealthy man's "whatever" because it cost a fortune to join a club, with a good coarse and that just alone eliminates many participants. A baseball you could buy about anywhere, the same with a football, and the same with a Frisbee. If you become a pro it is like you must own a Buick to get you to the game. Nothing wrong with that.

This writer vividly recalls at the mentioning of a "Frisbee" being taught by a track coach how to throw a discus. I could not wait till it was my turn to try. The discus shaped somewhat like a "Frisbee" but weighs much more can do bodily harm if it would hit someone. Not deliberate, with no intent to take the coach's head off I let go of the discus early and the thing just missed the coach's head. I was shamed and humiliated, but it was an accident and I look back it would not at all hurt this coach because his head was made of brick anyway. Hey being hit with a golf ball can kill you, but there is no sport in that!
