I find it interesting to think in terms of seven generations, seven generations prior to this present one that I am and seven generations forward into the future from this one that I am.

As I look back, one generation ago I was born in Boise Idaho, in the United States. One generation before that my father was born in a small town in Eastern Oregon, then still another generation my grandfather was born in a very small town in Central Missouri, just three generations ago, that was 1876.

Then 4 generations ago my Grandfather's father was born in the Mobile Bay area of Alabama, then 5 generations ago my grandfather's grandfather was born in the Cherokee Hills of North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia, then the 6th generation ago my grandfather's great grandfather was born in the Tide Water area of Virgina and the seventh generation ago, the man who started it was born in the Abenaki area of Ontario, Vermont, New Hampshire...

So in that family line me 1936, father 1916, grandfather 1876, grandfather's father 1830, grandfather's grandfather,1806, grandfather's great-grandfather about the time of the American revolution and the seventh Generation backward in time was about the time of the last of the French and Indian wars..

As I have thought about this it comes to mind that I am who, what and where I am as a result of the believing, thinking and planning of all of my ancestors as far back into time as humans have existed...

Then I think about my mother's family and her mother who was born in Missouri also, in 1887 and my mother's grandmother was born in Ohio about 1860, and her prior generations are lost among the mists of the Eastern North American Mountains and rivers back into the far reaches of time.

My dad's cousin traced his family tree back to 1754 when his ancestors came here from Austria. I am always humbled when I go through it and realize that my ancestors fought in the Revolution AND the Civil War, on both sides, it appears! Because of these people, I am here now! I always wonder what kind of people they were and how much of them is in me.

That was an interesting introspection of the history of your family and the future. Who knows, maybe someone inyour family may become a president or a king or queen. LOL
