My shopping trip was a total disaster. I went to Rockaway Mall in New Jersey, went to fine establishments like Lord & Taylor and Macys to see the sale racks where you can get designer clothes for less only to find hideous clothes. I didn't like the colors. They looked like a crayon box melted all over them and the cloth was all wrong for me. I fit into one dress except for the arms. Another squished my chest. It just wasn't working out. About the only thing I liked was a DKNY dress for a little less than $90 bucks! And even that I couldn't wear because my blue bra showed through the pink fabric. Ugh!

Disheartened I went to Target. Not much better there. About the only place I consistently liked was Kohl's. Not that I want to buy a lot of clothes right now, but I did want to see what was out there. After losing 55 lbs you want to see how good it looks on you. Boy was I disappointed.

So I am still trying to lose more weight. Although if I don't lose too much more it will be ok. I'd like to lose another dress size. Or two. But I am here to say there is hope for those who even have low thyroids. You can lose weight. You just can't let silly things like guys and clothes dishearten you. You have to do it for yourself. You have to want to be healthy and you have to want more energy and you have to want to look better. Really want it in order to stick with a weight loss plan.

I was miserable and a heart attack candidate. I've lost 22% of my body weight and counting and I feel great thanks to working hard at getting enough protein in my diet. The thing that really did it for me was the fear I might get diabetes. I'm 22% smaller and even though I was disappointed that I didn't really like any of the clothing they had for sale. I know I look better any way.

Takeaways
  • Changing habits can be hard but rewarding.
  • Even if you hate the clothes today. Losing weight is a good enough reward.
Did You Know?
Diet and exercise are important to how we feel. If we don't have enough protein, we can feel worse than ever if we work out.
