Right under the Sheriff's nose, Kalib kept himself hidden between the shadows and the office door. While keeping a vigilant watch on the sheriff, Kalib kept his hat drawn over his eyes, and just make sure, he kept his cousin's rifle stuck to his hip, cocked and ready to aim. He was keeping his eyes open, while, Tony, Ross and Arliss made their way down to the basement. "Git, down here, Kaib, less you want the Sheriff to catch ya!" Arliss let out a half-hearted holler. Kalib stole a look around the corner before making a move. After the Sheriff turned his back to the hallway, he bolted for the basement.

"You wanna keep it down, Arliss?" Kalib kept his complaint quiet as he was descending the stairs. "Would you a heard me, if I wasn't shoutin'?"

"Well, here I am, now what's this news you got?" Kalib asked. "Dynamite!" Arliss waved the stick in Kalib's face. "I know what it is, Arliss, question is, what are you gonna do with it, besides blowing us all to kingdom come?" Kalib groaned. "I'm gonna blow a hole through the wall!" Arliss laughed. "And why would you do that, there is a door?" Kalib pointed out. "Listen to me! Kaib, all we gotta do is take this stick of dynamite, light it and stuff it under that door!" Arliss pointed across the room. "I thought you said you was gonna blow a hole through the wall, now you wanna stuff it under the door?"

"Shoot, Kaib, why you always rainin' on my parade?" Arliss whined. "Fine! Go ahead and blow a hole in the wall, while you're at it, why don't you run upstairs and tell the sheriff that we're here?" He groaned. "Why doesn't he ever listen to me, Ross, you liked my idea, didn't ya?"
