Is anyone here tired of hearing about the Batman, the Dark Knight, the Joker, Heath Ledger, and anything related to Batman in the last few weeks? Has the hype turned some of you off and made you annoyed that this much attention is on a mere "superhero" movie? Have you read the rave reviews of "The Dark Knight" and become puzzled as to why it could get the same kind of raves as Oscar bait like "The Departed" "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood" do? Has the overkill of Heath Ledger and Joker coverage annoyed you? Are you convinced that "The Dark Knight" and Ledger couldn't possibly be as big or good as everyone says, and are anxious to be the one person to stand out and say they're wrong? Come to me after seeing "The Dark Knight", Ledger, the Joker and Batman, then we'll see how different your answers are.Batman is now the established protector of Gotham, although the public response to him is still divided. The city is now pinning their hopes for a bright future on new District Attorney Harvey Dent instead. Bruce Wayne is hoping that he lives up to that level so he can leave Gotham in Harvey's legitimate hands- even if those hands are currently with Bruce's ex-love Rachel Dawes. Still, Harvey and James Gordon are able to help Batman break the last pieces of the Gotham mob. However, in that destruction comes a man who rebuilds the criminal element of Gotham, then takes it over for himself. A man who commits a series of brutal and intricate crimes, targeting Batman and everyone in his orbit. But this man doesn't want Batman's death or power over Gotham- the Joker just wants to watch Gotham, it's citizens, and the very soul and morals of humanity itself to burn. And Batman may not be the right man to stop it.
