One of the few things PSP owners realize is that they don't have to exclusively download their PSP theme from the Sony Playstation Website. Your PSP is exactly that: YOUR PSP. You shouldn't have to fit in with the crowd or melt into an obscure conformity just because Sony says so. You should take advantage of every available facet of content production and creative genius out there and really lay claim to your identity as PSP gamer.
To Download, or not to Download:
To find an original PSP theme that you won't be sharing with everyone else, you should fish around the many different PSP websites out there. The many colorful forums and blogs catering to the PSP scene are wealths of information and sources of themes themselves. Legions of creative artists are out there, and they are either selling or sharing their work online. These are the sort of PSP themes that you won't find anywhere else, and can have some really fantastic results. In all honesty, it's the amateur created PSP themes that are some of the best out there.

The general rule of creating your own PSP theme is: If it's a "JPEG," it will work. Whether this means you are your own genius content creator and wish to be the architect of your own artistic demise, or you simply have the perfect picture and want it to be your new theme, most paint programs can convert or save the image in JPEG. If that doesn't work, a format conversion program will work just as well. These can be found online with very little problem, and will probably be great little graphic programs themselves. These are also the programs you will use to make PSP themes of photographs. Photos of you and your friend transferred to JPEG make great themes.
