Whether you have a blank cd available to you, or you just happen to have a couple that you don't listen to anymore, you can turn them into fabulous and unique photo holders. If you have the cd it costs next to nothing to make the cute picture displays.

Use tape or glue to attach the pictures to the backside of the cd. The pictures should stick up above the edge of the cd but should be well secured on the back. Place the pictures all around the cd but turning them so that no one's picture is upside down.

After you've arranged all your photos you'll cut a piece of magnetic sheeting to go on the back. You'll find the magnetic sheeting sold by the single sheet or by the roll. Cut a circle the size of the cd, and stick it to the backside of the cd, covering the edges of the photos. The magnetic sheeting has a peel-n-stick piece that allows you to simply remove the covering and stick it to the cd. Now you can stick the magnetic photo holder to the inside of lockers, on the fridge, or other metal surfaces.

There are variations to the cd magnetic photo display. Instead of placing pictures all the way around the disc you can just add three or four pictures to the top edge of the cd. You can also cover the cd itself in fabric, felt or decorative paper. Cut a circle and glue the fabric onto the front of the cd.

Other things you can use to decorate the cd include glitter glue, fake jewels, stickers, ribbon or roping, and even paint markers. You can create a design on a blank cd with the markers or just glue a piece of cloth on the front.

Instead of making the cd magnetic you can use a piece of double-sided tape to create something similar that sticks on different surfaces. Use the tape to stick the photo arrangement to walls, dressers, mirrors, and other surfaces. Instead of the tape you can use velcro which lets you stick the arrangement to curtains and similar surfaces.

Takeaways
  • There are lots of ways to turn a cd into a photo display.
  • Add a magnet to the back of the cd to hang the photos on the fridge.
  • Use a box to make a secret hiding place under your photo display.
