Go to any dollar theme store, and you'll see an assortment of small wire racks, used for many different purposes. Some are cooling racks for pies and breads others are racks used on a barbecue grill. Don't want to buy a rack? Use one from an old toaster oven. These small racks make a unique photo display that looks great in children's rooms and other areas of the house. The wire racks easily hang on a nail or tack in the wall. Hanging the rack will make it easier for you to create the picture display. Hang the rack with the wires running vertically or horizontally - your choice. Use hot glue to place mini clothes pins here and there on the rack. Use the clothes pins to hold the pictures you want to display. Make a particular pattern with the clothes pins or glue them on randomly. Make sure there is enough space between each clothes pin to allow for the size of the photo.
Make something similar by using a wire rack and magnetic photos. Purchase magnetic sheeting - by the roll or by the sheet - at any craft store. Cut pieces of the sheeting the size of the pictures. Peel away the paper layer of the magnet and stick it to the back of the photos. Now you can simply stick your photos to the wire rack.
Make the arrangement look different any time you wish. Change the photos from time to time or rearrange them. Put a large magnetic picture in the center then surround it by smaller photos. Or, cut photos in geometric shapes then add the magnetic sheeting to the backs.
If you want, you can place photos in lightweight frames then add a button magnet to the back. The button magnets cause the photo to stick out further than the flat magnetic pictures. This gives the whole arrangement more dimension.
Make the rack much more impressive by adding any number of embellishments. Tie bows or ribbons onto the rack. Or, weave silk flowers and vines amongst the wires on the rack to give it a country look. You can also glue fake jewels onto the corners, add tassels to the corners. Or just choose various ceramic or other magnets to place among the pictures.
