Yet another school day for an expressionate young man of 15 years of age, after all, his friends, teachers, and principals knew his personality and sexuality all too well. Larry King was a young student who attended E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California, up until the day of his tragic murder on February 2, 2008. Let's recant shall we, Larry King, not to be confused with CNN's Larry King, was a self-proclaimed, expressionate, in-your-face homosexual. According to interviews Larry King was allowed to freely express himself as a gay individual even to the degree of making other classmates uncomfortable.

Flash back, there was a time in America's history where certain behavior was not tolerated, however, in today's society anything goes.

According to school officials, and staff, Larry's freedom of expression was nurtured and overlooked, however, it was incarcerating for those who were taunted by his openly sexual and flirtatious suggestions. Brandon McInerney, a 14-year-old male also a student at E.O. Green Junior High was one of the victims of Larry's taunting, and said to be interest of affection. Why was Brandon considered to be a victim? According to federal law, any uninvited sexual comments directed towards another person to intimated or make them feel uncomfortable is a form of sexual harassment. So, technically Brandon was a victim of sexual harassment, according to federal law, however, there is no statement recorded from the school regarding actions taken by school officials to protect Brandon's rights.

On February 2, 2008, Larry King came to school in normal attire; clothing for men. According to a school employee, Larry was unhappy; he vomited up his breakfast that morning and did not get much sleep the night prior. Students stated that Larry was nervous before his first period class with Mrs. Boldrin; English teacher. The students were instructed by Mrs. Boldrin to take their books and personal items to the computer lab to type up their reports on World War II. Larry sat at his computer and directly behind him sat Brandon McInerney; the young man that Larry had shown an interest in.

Monique, Homosexuals have tried to use the "Civil Rights" plea for far too long. Civil Rights Acts of 1964 was not for gays and lesbians, contrary to what the homosexual community believes. Read the Civil Rights Act and gain a true understanding of why that law was originally passed. No one is infringing upon the young man's so called 'right' to be gay, however, he crossed the line when he began to harass the defendant in the case. Murder is never okay, nor is it acceptable, but we live in a world where the unacceptable is accepted as the norm when it is not. Homosexuals act as if those who disagree with their lifestyle choice are indebted to them, and they are not. This tragic incident is far more complex than the human eye can see, and I sincerely hope the defendant receives a fair trial; because his rights we violated as well, yet no one intervened on his behalf. The media and the school officials bare a lot of the responsibility as well, not just the parents. Much love,

How disappointing for me to read evidence of the real problem. Having a crush on someone and relaying this crush is not criminal. Killing a person is definitely criminal. How arrogant and ignorant!!! If a child is uncomfortable with someone else having a crush on them bringing a gun to school is not the answer. What a different world we would live in if every straight girl who ever was hit on by a straight boy turned around and shot him. Blaming the child's sexuality and the school being supportive of his rights is a cop-out of the most horrendous sort. The murdering child and his parents should be held responsible for their actions. Obviously! Quote the bible all you want, but people have predicted the end times for generations and generations...and the world still spins, injustice still prevails and gays are still having their civil rights squashed by oppressive heterosexual religious intolerants.

I agree this 14-year-old child did not know how to control his anger, but the school officials were well aware of the situation and refused to resolve the situation.

The real problem is that a dude didn't know how to handle his anger, took a gun to school, and shot the harasser. He should have requested that King stop doing whatever he was doing, and if that failed, had the school intervene.
