Review - Tony Hawk's Project 8 - PS3 Version

Tony Hawk's Project 8 is a great game for those who are into the x-sports or are skaters. The whole series is very well done, but with PS3, Tony Hawk's Project 8 makes some very good changes to the gameplay. However, there are some noticeable things missing from Tony Hawk's Project 8 that hurt the game's overall worth.
Tony Hawk's Project 8 features a new career mode that has different levels of challenges to that not only makes it re playable, but is also a great addition to allows people of different levels of familiarity with Tony Hawk series to get used to Tony Hawk's Project 8 and experience it to the fullest. In the career mode you go through a series of different challenges, races, and trick-based modes to build up your career as one of the 8 elite skaters in the game.
One good feature is the effect of the PS3 motion-sending controller. Even though it's really cool to be able to pull of tricks and balance yourself using the controller, it isn't accurate enough to be able to go through the entire Tony Hawk's Project 8 with it. The best part of the game is the variety and the number of goals in the different challenges. For example, in one particular challenge, you are to keep a crowd of people divided into three zones, “happy” with your moves. So you have to constantly keep balancing and making sure that you're landing some neat moves in each of the three zones. Tony Hawk's Project 8 has a ton of variety of challenges of this sort. Secondly, all the different moves have been re-vamped to not only be more realistic and cool to look at, but also set Tony Hawk's Project 8 apart from the other similar games (like Airblade). As such, Tony Hawk's Project 8 would've made a great choice for most gamers.
However, the game, like a couple of other PS3 games, is marred with framerate issues, and graphics that are only marginally, if at all, better than the Xbox 360 version of Tony Hawk's Project 8. While the graphics are still some of the best, it doesn't meet up at all to the expectations one would have from a PS3 game. However, this is not my biggest issue with Tony Hawk's Project 8.
