Review : Resistance : Fall of Man for PS3

Resistance : Fall of Man is a really cool game that stands out from the rest of the crowd of first person shooters for a variety of reason. One of the few games in the PS3 launch lineup, Resistance : Fall of Man is one of the games to look out for. While drawing inspiration from some of the other great shooters out there, Resistance : Fall of Man still stands out and manages to distinguish itself from the rest thanks to it's great weapon design and animation, the cool enemies, the ease of learning the controls, and the best in shooters graphics.






The Good of Resistance : Fall of Man:






Resistance : Fall of Man borrows the best from the different shooters. The weapons for example, in my eyes, are the greatest of any game I've come across. Even the most basic weapon is a stylized rifle with auto shooting and 50 bullet clips. It is also merged with a grenade launcher as the secondary fire. The stylish rifle is the basic weapon for Resistance : Fall of Man, but a good one when compared to the rest of the weapons in most games. There is some other standard fare, like rocket launcher, sniper rifle, and a shotgun, but there are some more nasty weapons here as well. One of them is the Auger. The Auger is possibly the most powerful weapon in any shooter (possibly...) and is capable of punching through most surfaces, which means it is almost impossible to evade. It's secondary mode sets up a defense shield that does its job very well. Another uber-cool weapon is the Bullseye – a Chimera weapon. You can mark your enemies with the Bullseye, and then shoot homing bullets on them to make quick work of them.

The other great things in Resistance : Fall of Man include the broken up health bar which recharges to the nearest part when not in battle. This means that not only do you have better chances of survival, it's also realistic. You can't just camp around and wait till you're on full health in Resistance : Fall of Man as opposed to some other games.

The AI of the enemies is great, and they almost work in co-ordination trying to surround you and destroy you. They also get stronger and more challenging at the game progresses.
