Angelina Jolie Biography

Early years

Angelina Jolie was born Angelina Jolie Voight on June 4, 1975. Daughter of Oscar winning actor Jon Voight and actress Marcheline Bertrand. Raised mostly by her mother after her parents divorced while she was still a baby, Angelina moved around a lot with her mother and brother. She uses her middle name (which means beautiful) as her last name in order to succeed independently of her father's success as an actor. Her dream as a child was to become a funeral director. Angelina started to model professionally when she was 16 years. Musical groups such as the Rolling Stones, lemonheads, meatloaf and Lenny Kravitz would cast her in their music videos. Angelina's brother James would direct student films for the USC school of Cinema and Angelina would be in them.

Angelina's Break

In 1993 Angelina's starred in her first film which was a sci-fi nature film. Cyborg 2, which didn't even make it to the big screen. Her next film was in 1995 and this one helped her career along with her love life. While filming Hackers she met her future husband Jonny Lee Miller. Within a year they were divorced.

Her career as an actress was heading in a better direction then her love life. Angelina starred in four more movies from 1995-1997.

Golden Globe

She was honored with a 1997 Best supporting actress Golden Globe award and an Emmy nomination for the TV movie George Wallace. She won her second Golden Globe award for Gia. In 1999 Angelina earned a Golden Globe and an Oscar for her movie Girl, Interrupted.

Later on
In 2001 Angelina was appointed Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In 2002 Angelina and her then husband Billy Bob Thornton adopted a Cambodian baby boy named Maddox Chivan Thornton Jolie. In 2002 Angelina and Billy Thornton filed for a divorce and Angelina was awarded full custody of Maddox.

While filming the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith Angelina fell in love with Brad Pitt. Pitt divorced Jennifer Aniston soon after the film. Angelina and Brad adopted and Ethiopian girl names Zahara Marley and in 2006 she gave birth to Brads child in Namibia. They named her Shiloh.
