10 Ways to Tell If Someone is Overly Self-Focused

Some people go to the extreme in being self-focused. It becomes quite obvious through their behavior - a me, me, me attitude all the way. Following, are 10 ways to tell if someone is overly self-focused. I'm sure the list could be much longer, due to the topic, but this is a start. 1. Their headache will always be worse than yours. In fact, if you have a headache, more than likely they'll have an imaginary brain tumor.
2. You hear about their day - each and every hour, every moment of their day. They don't realize you have had a day, too. You didn't really need to hear their endless complaints about the toilet paper that's a bit too scratchy (they bought it, so why are they complaining?) and hearing about their magazine subscription running out - very trivial issues overshadowing anything about your day.
3. Your house has burned down and you are devastated. This does not take priority over the self-focused person's car running out of gas. The fact that you had to run out of your house naked to keep from being burned up in the fire is also not a priority, nor the fact that you are now homeless.
4. With the self-focused person, you never feel you get to unload your feelings and thoughts. But, you become a huge dumpster for all of their thoughts and feelings being unloaded onto you. You begin to wonder if you should send them a bill each month for garbage service.
5. At the end of a 2-hour conversation, you realize you have only spoken two words with the self-focused person. The first word was "hello" and the last was "goodbye". As you say goodbye, you feel a tremendous relief. They never noticed you had no chance to get a word in, nor did they even notice your snoring!
6. The self-focused person thinks of you highly - at least it seems this way because they turn to you often. Everyone else has begun to hang up on them or possibly go to sleep after their long rants - about themselves! You're the only person who hasn't shunned them totally and this is the ONE thing they do realize.
