It turns out that all the hype surrounding the latest installment in the Batman franchise, the Dark Knight, has been grossly understated. This film is hands- down the best Batman movie ever made. From the first minute of the opening scene until the credits began to roll the action never stopped. Seeing this movie was a two and a half hour thrill ride; the excitment enhanced even more by the packed theatre. This may even be the greatest movie made thus far of the entire "superhero" genre that sprung up after the first Spider-Man. The acting is superb. The plot couldn't be better. The special effects are amazing.

Christian Bale is in his element playing a Batman far darker than what most viewers would be used to. He takes a much more aggressive stance toward crime and his boiling anger and even propensity toward murderous rage at time sends a chill up the spine. He is a frightening figure, someone you'd be terrified of if you were a criminal in Gotham.
