obtaining damaging information on Alycia Lane. Larry Mendte is expected to turn himself in and plead guilty to these charges in early August, and faces at least six months in prison for her spying on Alycia Lane's e-mails. These incidents ranged from Larry Mendte being the sources on various stories about Alycia Lane in the gossip columns, as well as leaking pictures of Alycia Lane on the beach to the New York Post.

Larry Mendte and Alycia Lane worked at Philadelphia's CBS-3 station together for more than four years. Lane contends that Mendte became "obsessively jealous" of her after finding out Lane made more money than he did. According to court documents, Mendte hacked into Lane's e-mail account more than 500 times, using Lane's e-mails to leak incidents about her to other news outlets.

Mendte's biggest offense was leaking e-mails Lane and her attorney exchanged after Lane was arrested for confronting Manhattan police officers last December. Mendte also leaked e-mails in which Lane and her attorney discussed filing a lawsuit against the news station for firing her earlier this year. Both incidents fall under violating Lane's attorney-client privilege.

Mendte has been rumored to be the source for various damaging stories about Lane. In 2006, Lane was reported to have been in a romantic relationship with Prince Albert of Monaco, reports likely fueled by Mendte's leaks. In 2007, Lane sent e-mails of herself in a bikini to ESPN anchor Rich Eisen, which were intercepted by Eisen's wife. It was reportedly Mendte who got a hold of these e-mails and leaked them to gossip columns. And when Lane got into a heated confrontation with Manhattan police officers, Mendte reportedly hacked into Lane's e-mail to leak the specific details of what happened.
