The other day I had to run into the health food store and didn't have a long time to look around. I wanted to be sure to get a thing of organic spaghetti sauce but I didn't want to spend a fortunate either. The first jar that caught my eye happen to be a discontinued item so it was on clearance. Seeing how it was going to be my cheapest option I decided to get it. This spaghetti sauce was Rising Moon Organics Port and Asiago Organic Pasta Sauce. The pasta sauce was only one dollar and fifty cents for a jar that contained two cups of sauce so I got all of the jars that were on the shelf, which was only two.I had no idea what the name of the pasta sauce meant and since I was in a hurry when I got it I didn't look at the ingredients. Once I was home I was able to better study the ingredients of the Rising Moon Organics Port and Asiago Organic Pasta Sauce. The ingredients were purified water, organic tomato paste, organic diced tomatoes, which were organic tomatoes, organic tomato juice and calcium chloride, organic onions, organic asiago cheese, which was made of organic milk, cheese cultures, enzymes and salt, organic port wine, organic garlic, sea salt, organic mustard seed, organic basil, organic onion flakes, organic parsley, organic italian herb blend, organic black pepper and citric acid. Apparently the asiago referred to the cheese in the sauce and the port referred to the wine in the sauce. This was the first time that I had got a pasta sauce that contained wine and as far as I knew asiago cheese. From what I understand it is reminiscent of parmesan cheese. This sounded interesting for sure.
