Tom Cruise was born on July 1965, a cancer 5' 9'' tall from Syracuse, New Jersey. His father was an electric engineer, working for General Electrics, and his family was always traveling around with him from job to job. When Tom was 14, he had gone to fifteen different schools, and suffered from dyslexia.

His family was so poor that he decided to go to St Francis Seminary in Cincinnati, where he could study and eat cheaply. He stayed there for one year, but he left to look for another goal in his life. The need of blend and make friends made him practice all kind of sports at High School. He was very competitive, full of energy and restless. However, he was injured, and during recovering, he started to be interested in the dramatic department, and participated in some plays. His role in "Guys and Dolls" was very well received, and Tom, at 18, decided to move to

New York to try and acting career. In the Big Apple, he worked like a bus boy and waiter, little jobs to get by, while he took acting classes in the evenings. His temperament and energy were fast known, and soon he signed with Creative Artist Agency.

After a lot of work, he intervened in his first movie, from Franco Zefirelli, and, curiously, with Brooke. It was a slow and over sweet film, and never went very far. Later came "Taps", one line that impressed everybody, and the stupid teen comedy "Losin'it". "Risky Business" was the real start for Cruise; this is now considered a classic comedy from the 80's, easy and fun. The scene of Cruise singing and dance in underwear will be in the books. During this movie, Tom Cruise started to make popular his romantic career. He dated Rebecca DeMornay, his partner, and the first of a series of famous actresses that pass trough his life.
