Senator Mike DeWine Stumps for John McCain in Southern Ohio Counties

McCain Victory Campaign Works with Ohio County Republican Party Leaders Across the State

Former Ohio Senator, Mike DeWine spent July 17 touring the southern Ohio area. DeWine was accompanied by Tim Allen, the Victory Campaign Regional Coordinator for John McCain. The pair of Ohio Republicans met with county GOP members at various locations in the southernmost regions of the state. All information included in this article was gathered first hand, while attending the meeting.

During the low-key receptions hosted by local party faithful, grassroots strategy was discussed. Senator DeWine served with McCain in the Senate, and has called the Presidential candidate a friend for many years. Providing yard signs and campaign literature was but a small portion of the presentations.

An organized effort to reach out to Republican voters, and conducting surveys based upon a specific set of questions, which will be distributed door to door in the coming weeks. Along with contacting the core group of McCain supporters, outreach efforts will also focus on "soft Democrats". It was the stated belief of the campaign representatives that Senator Barack Obama's ultra-liberal ideals do not resonate with the all Democrats.

"We want to seek out the "Reagan Democrats", and share with them the McCain goals, and plans to move our country forward," Senator DeWine stated during the meeting in McArthur, Ohio. "John McCain is a good man, who a stand up for what he believes in. He has the experience required to lead America."

McCain's background and professional experience was detailed at length to the crowd of Republicans, which gathered for event. While the campaign stop lasted over two hours, the time breezed by, as the McCain stories both informed, and entertained the crowd.
