Colonies Edition of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition adds much to an already good game but you still are left with a sense of déjà vu.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition is a relook at an already good game with some extra content thrown into the mix. The game has a solid gameplay core and plenty of good looking enemies to fight but there really is nothing to set it apart from the rest.

This Colonies edition release celebrates the platinum selling of the already popular game with additional content added to the game to make more of a good thing. Or you could say they just want to make more money but it sounds better when you say they want to give more to their diehard fans.

I really say that in all humility as the game plays really well and there really is no problem with any one part of the game, it is a whole and completely well made game with good graphics, plenty of action and added content that will be worth a second look. Colonies Edition does add enough new content like the first person view for those that wish to play through the campaign this way, a few choice single player modes like scored mode and unlimited ammo and new multiplayer modes and maps with new weapons.

In the single player campaign you play a soldier who fights against these big bugs and kill everything in your way, seems familiar. The game includes several different features like a T-Energy that lowers and you pick up replacement energy from anything you kill to boost yours up again. If your T-Energy goes down so does your health as it is what is keeping you nice and toasty warm on the frozen planet your traipsing on.

The story is kind of skimpy but I never have followed many of the stories in games, mostly I like a well made game that does not have to rely on a story for me to go out and kill the bad guys. The story is there it just does not mean all that much to the gaming and you do have a lot of things to fight against with plenty of ways to deal out hurt on them.
