TIME magazine reported Bono's passion and commitment to reduce povery is not only noteworthy, it is impacting. Billionaire Bill Gates had previously concluded and reported that to meet with Bono discussing the topic of poverty would be somewhat of a waste of time. In fact, Gates told TIME that "Worldhealth is immensely complicated. It doesn't really boil down to a 'Let's be nice' analysis."

However, Gates did end up meeting with Bono alongside his wife who is also considered a povery warrior. The three found a common interest involving facts and figures and also that this common interest could lead to a more powerful front regarding poverty. Linked by their "nerdiness" the three have had a significant impact on the devastating issue of poverty.

Bono is acclaimed with having convinced the leaders fo the world's richest countries to forgive $40 billion dollars in debt owed by the poorest countries. These nations are now able to fund schools and health care.

Not only has Bono made headlines for the past several years, he is also an incredibly talented musician.

Born in Dublin Ireland in May of 1960, Bono's birth name is Paul Hewson. Paul was nicknamed "Bono Vox" by a high school friend. The name meant "good voice" in latin so the name stuck and eventually Paul shorted it to Bono which remains his official name.

Bono is the lead singer/songwriter of the continually successful and famous band U2. Bono also occasionally plays the guitar with the band and has been known to take up acting, screenwriting, orating, and is also known as an amateur thespian.

In August of 1982, Bono married Alison Stewart and they have four children, Jordan, Memphis Eve, Elijah Bob Patricus Guggi Q, and John Abraham.

Bono is the secondchild of Bobby and Iris Hewson. He is also the youngest in the family.

Bono's father described him as an exasperating child. He also got the reputation of being absent-minded andargumentative. As a child, Bono was also starry-eyed and curious. While seeing the world through rose-colored glasses, Bono also raised questions about what he saw.
