You Must Stay Motivated to Loose Weight

How many times have you decided you are going to start a exercise program but not long after you begin, you find it extremely difficult to stay motivated? When it comes to exercise, it is up to you as an individual. There is no other person or any machine on the market today that can do it for you. This is why it is essential to have motivation factors in place in order to loose the weight that you desire.

When you are overweight, for whatever reason, you will no doubt want to trim down. Some reasons for wanting to take a few pounds off are related to physical condition and fitness, and others are for physical appearance. It should also be made clear that it is never too late to become fit.

This is what people who are overweight should learn to understand. However,easy it is tofollow instructions for weigh loss, almost 35% of Americans are unable to prevent being overweight.

In the past 50-60 years, physical activity has been on the decline, both at home and at work. People, as a general rule drive instead of walk, push buttons on machines to do their lifting and pushing, take elevators instead of stairs, etc. As a result we have become a very physically inactive society.

Health experts believe that those who do loose weight, by dieting and eating in a certain way, will ultimately go back to their old eating habits once they have lost weight. These same people tend to go back to an inactive state as far as exercise is concerned even if they enjoyed getting the exercise.

How to be motivated for life:

1. Have a clear goal

If you make a statement such as "I want to loose some weight", this is a vague statement. This statement will not motivate you to loose weight, or start an exercise program. The thing that is very important is to be exact on what your goals really are. You should set a certain amount of pounds you want to loose. Imagine what you will look like at your goal weight. If you do this you will be inspired to loose the weight you desire. If you have a definite goal, you will be inspired to reach your goal.
