A Little About Me
Ok seeing how this is my first real entry here I figured I would give you a little background info on me.
My name is Adam Veazie. I am 33 years old and I live in Belleview, FL. I have worked in the IT field for about 15 years. I have my BS degree from University of Phoenix, and I hold more than several industry certifications in the IT area. I have 2 years of instructor experience, and I
really enjoy helping people as much as I can.
From July of 2004 to January of 2006 I was an instructor at New Horizons Computer Learning center in Gainesville, FL. I really liked that job, but the commute was becoming difficult for me. That combined with the fact that they had another instructor that was allowed to break the rules such as the dress code, what he could teach in his classes, etc... I decided to take a job at DataOne Networks in Ocala. I thought that this would be a step up for me, and I would be able to use my skills in a progressive manner. Boy was I wrong.
Three weeks into the job a coworker of mine asked me for some help with Microsoft Access. I told him that Access was my specialty because that is what I mainly taught at New Horizons. So we both set out to design a database that would bring some order to the inventory room in our office. Within a week we had a database that was acceptable and met the requirements that we needed. We added the ability to print labels with barcodes so that inventory could be checked out with a barcode reader instead of writing down numbers. We added the ability to print labels all at once instead of one at a time. We also added several other features that were really neat.
