Too Human for Xbox 360 Hands-on Preview

Too Human took nearly ten years to complete, starting from the Playstation to the Gamecube to finally the Xbox 360. The game managed to survive numerous delays and cancellations. Was all the efforts and resources that were put into developing the game worth it? Find out in this hands-on preview of Too Human for the Xbox 360.Story
Drawing heavily from Norse mythology (in fact, you could say it is a futuristic representation), the story of Too Human follows Baldur. As an Aesir (protector of mankind) and the son of Odin, Baldur must stop the war machines built during ancient times from destroying the world. Too Human covers the first part of the trilogy.
Graphics
Developer Silicon Knights went through a lot in this department. The game was previously powered using the Unreal 3 engine but it is now using a heavily modified version of the same engine (causing yet another lengthy delay in the process).
As a result, Too Human looks gorgeous. This is due in large part to the excellent art direction, especially to the environment.
Sound
The background music is both epic and majestic at the same time. The voice acting is pretty solid as well.
Gameplay
Too Human is a mix between a hack-and-slash role playing game like Baldur's Gate with stylish action sequences of Devil May Cry.
You can pick between five character classes: Berserker, Defender, Champion, Commando and Bio Engineer. Like in other western role-playing games, each class plays different from another. For example, you can choose to be a Berserker if you want to fight up close or be a Bio Engineer if you like to heal people. Too Human also features a Skill Tree to help further customized your characters.
Too Human places more emphasis on action than other games in the role-playing genre. While entirely optional, you can do some stylish combos. The advance combat menu lists a bunch of moves you can perform.
However, Too Human pales in comparison to the best action games because it lacks the same quickness and intensity. Not to mention the right analog stick is not the best method to performing melee attacks.
