Raisin Box Christmas Ornaments Kids Can Make

Easy and Fun Christmas Crafts for Kids and Adults

I love using those mini raisin boxes to make crafts out of. They’re perfect to make simple ornaments for your Christmas tree as well. Using some of the simple materials you probably have laying around the house makes this
an easy and almost free Christmas ornament the kids can make in no time.

1. My first raisin box ornament is a simple gift ornament. Wrap your empty rain box in some of your Christmas wrapping paper. Tie a ribbon around it a finish off with a bow. Now, how simple was that! You can look the metal ornament hook through the knot on the bow to hang it on your Christmas tree. You could leave the raisins in here if you want the kids to take them off the tree and eat them

2. My second idea is a simple picture frame ornament made out of an empty raisin box. You do need to eat those raisins for this one. Use an exacto knife to cut out a small rectangle out of the front to the raisin box. Slip a small photo or photocopy of a photo in the back of the box and glue it down. You should be able to see the family photo out of the rectangle you cut out. Now, wrap the ornament like a gift. Use the exacto knife to make an X in the front of the box where the rectangle cut out is. Lightly apply some glue to the backs of the triangular pieces. Press them inside the box to revel the rectangle cut out again. This covers any rough edges you may have made cutting the square. Now, tie a simple bow. Cut the ends off the make the bow even. Glue it to the top of the raisin box. Let the glue dry and then you can slip a hook through the center knot to hand this easy Christmas photo ornament on your tree.

3. Finally, make some Christmas countdown calendar ornaments with your empty raisin boxes. Have the kids insert a small piece of candy or even the dried fruit in the box. Wrap like a simple Christmas gift in number one. Have the kids number the ornaments 1 through 25. Then tie a ribbon around it and finish off in a bow. You can hang these simple raisin box ornaments on the Christmas tree. Make sure you let the kids take on off for each day of the month of December.

Let the kids be in charge of making this simple raisin box craft project and the parents could open one each day of December for a change.
