5 Ways to Use Leftover Paint

There isn't any reason to throw leftover paint away. Even a small amount of leftover paint can be useful. Just let your imagination go wild and use the following ideas.

1. To liven up a room, use leftover paint on one wall in a particular room. This can add depth or it can create a focus wall to display pictures, plaques, wall lamps or shadow boxes. Painting just one wall a different color from the rest can make a room look better until you are ready to paint the entire room.

2. If you have flower beds, create a border with leftover lumber or landscaping timbers. Use leftover paint to give them color and spruce up the outside decor.

3. If you have small amounts of paint in assorted colors, use a different color for each drawer on a child's bedroom dresser. Children love colorful rooms and the dresser will add a nice touch.

4. Look inside and outside of your home for anything that could use a fresh coat of paint - from picture frames, to bookcases, to chairs, doors, framing and anything in between.

5. Donate the paint. Ask family or friends if they have a use for the paint or donate it to a local organization.
