Apollo Astronaut Edgar Mitchell Claims UFO Cover Up

Former Apollo 14 moonwalker Edgar Mitchell claimed, in a recent radio interview, that not only have aliens been visiting the Earth for the past sixty years since the Roswell incident, but that Earth governments are aware of this fact and are covering it up.

Edgar Mitchell claims that sources at NASA, the military, and the intelligence community have described these aliens as, "little people who look strange to us." The aliens have a small body frame, a large head, and large eyes as has been traditionally depicted in popular films and

 television.

Edgar Mitchell made the claim on the popular British radio show Kerrang!, which generally covers music and popular culture. The host of the show, Nick Margerrison, thought at first that Edgar Mitchell was indulging in a little astronaut humor until he realized that Mitchell was deadly serious.

NASA, of course, is trying to downplay Edgar Mitchell's remarks and is denying that it is involved in some sort of alien conspiracy cover up.

Edgar Mitchell spent nine hours walking on the Moon in February, 1971 at the Fra Mauro highlands during the Mission of Apollo 14. Apollo 14 was commanded by Mercury astronaut Alan Shepard. With Shepard, Edgar Mitchell holds the record for the longest moonwalk in history.

Edgar Mitchell has long been interested in esoteric subjects, including paranormal phenomenon. He conducted private ESP experiments with some friends on Earth during his Apollo 14 flight. Later Edgar Mitchell founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences to conduct research into subjects he feels have been neglected by mainstream science, such as human consciousness and psychic phenomenon.

The recent radio interview is not the first time Edgar Mitchell has claimed that aliens have landed on Earth and that there is a UFO cover up. In 2004 Edgar Mitchell told the St. Petersburg times that aliens have been visiting the Earth for decades and that the government was conducting a campaign of disinformation in order to cover up the truth.

Edgar Mitchell is a cocky idiot who is full of himself. He had too many neutrons bombarding his brain on the moon. He has no first hand experience with anything alien. He just is stupid enough to believe in other crazy people.

Rhetorically, why do some sceptics think it so outrageous that ET's and UFO's may have (or are) visiting Earth? Are we not doing the same ourselves? Or do the Moon,Mars,Venus, the moons of Saturn, etc. not qualify as extra-terrestrial. Granted,we've only been to the Moon "personally"but I believe that all the landers, probes, satellites that we have sent to other worlds both within and possibly without our Solar System qualify as being on par with the astronauts who walked on the Moon. If these ET's are thousands or millions of years ahead of us techno-wise,then they surely have figured out a way to deal with the vast distances we're concerned with. After all is was only 100 years ago that man flew an airplane. Someone ought not to be so open-minded that their brains fall out,but at the same time,be so stubborn in their scepticism as to be the object of ridicule.

To Mr. Wilcher. I am a sceptic to some degree. But I want to believe that there is life, intelligent life in the Universe. We already have videos and photos of crafts of unknown origin. Astronauts, not only from the Gemini, and Apollo missions, but from the space shuttle missions have witnessed and photographed crafts that are not identified. If they are from our planet, then why have'nt we been told about these extraordinary craft. What is there to hide? Why do we keep secrets from ourselves? Should'nt the benefit of humankind be the utmost concern? If these craft are not from our planet, and there is knowledge of their existence, why are we kept in ignorance? Swamp gas and reflections from Venus do not satisfy my intellect.

Excellent article Mark. Is he the same astronaut who claimed to have seen an alien aircraft in space? I know one did but can't remember which one.

To ricomaan207, you have a good point. However, there are also many noteworthy men who would deny these claims. Somewhere, there is a respectable man who is not telling the truth. I'm simply more inclined to believe the one whose position does not involve the existence of aliens.

To Marvin Wilcher, A responsible man, a person of stature, a respected man; his background has been investigated to the highest degree. He is employed by one the highest levels of government offices. He risks his life for the betterment of mankind. He explores worlds outside of his home world. He sees something that he believes is not of his world. And he is ridiculed. Do you actually believe this a man who is seeking "extra publicity"? What of the ancient explorers of our own planet. Do you not think they were not ridiculed by their observations? What they saw was never seen before. But their obeservations were true nonetheless. Just because others have not witnessed these observations does not mean that they are'nt true. So, a man, wants to share what he has seen. He wants to tell others. But, when he does, he is shunned and considered a fanatic, or a heretic. Was Columbus a fanatic? Magellan? America Vespucci? They all discovered new lands, habitated by aliens

Reality check, If you believe in true consciousness then you know that we are all one. And we share the Universe, as one. We are one.

I think that rumors have been circulating for so long that there will have to be something significantly more than a few references from an astronaut who has nothing to lose from the extra publicity, before anyone but UFO enthusiasts pays attention.

The thing about the human race is they would likely still act as conquerors once they visit other worlds. Yes,Yes, so you say you don't do that anymore? No so my friends, your race still practices it well enough. The only change has been your methods. Now you use economic manipulation or religious fear tactics as well as political systems which creates elite classes and slave classes. So yes the human race may not charge in swords drawn or guns blazing anymore but the truth is you are still a dangerous and brute race. There's no reason to be surprised none of us want you on our worlds. Please stay where you are and destroy yourselves along with your planet, save us the trouble.

We live on an average sized planet, that orbits an average sized star, that orits around an averaged sized galaxy. There are trillions of galaxies in our known universe. Are we (humans), so naive to think that we are the only planet on which life evolved, or was created? Is it not possible that life has also evolved or has been created on other planets in our universe? We are aliens ourselves. As we venture out into the universe, and set foot on other planets, are we not ourselves aliens? Why would'nt races from distant planets upon discovering life on Earth not want to explore and study? Are'nt we doing the same thing? We are constantly searching for life elsewhere. We discover new planets everyday. We seek ways in which to ttravel to these "alien" worlds. And someday soon, we will touch foot on these alien worlds. And if there is life, and most importantly, if there is intelligent life, we will be considered aliens ourselves.
