Every family has different ways of celebrating THEIR Christmas. So it makes since that you may feel a little bit lost when you start your own family. Pass some of your traditions down, borrow some from this list and create your own!1. Black Friday: Forget about the sales and crazy crowds today. Have a relaxing day at home with the kids. Later on that night, buy the Christmas tree and deck the halls....because Santa is coming to town!
2. Bundle up the children, pop some Christmas music in the CD Player and drive around town to admire the lights and decorations. Sing Christmas Carols and sip on some hot cocoa. As the years go by, you will know which houses and neighborhoods are a must see.
3. The first snow is always exciting this time of year! Play outside WITH the children each year to make the first snow extra special. Build a snowman, start a snowball fight and make a snow angel...become a kid again that day! For bonus points: take them to a park with a great sledding hill and go nuts! Your kids will ove and look forward to the first snow each year.
4. Take your family to the grocery store and stock up on cookie dough, one roll of sugar cookie dough per child. Allow your children to pick out their own decorations, cookie cutters and toppings. They each can make their own batch of cookies to share with relatives and friends after Christmas dinner. Personalized cookies also make great gifts for teachers and friends!
5. Allow your children to open up one special present on Christmas Eve each year. A present that they can use that night such as new pajamas, a christmas movie or a brand new bed time story.
