The day has finally arrived. The invitations were sent some time ago.
The proud family members gather around. It's almost time for the show.
How could it be so short a time since you started Kindergarten; too small to be alone?
Now you're getting ready to step into a brand new world. A world all your own.
Some of you will go on to college. Some will launch a rewarding career.
As time passes I'm sure there are some " school days" memories and friends you'll still hold dear.
The band starts to play. The march begins. You may see some handkerchiefs and tissues appear in the crowd.
There are some tears in the eyes of proud parents but in each heart and mind they are all cheering loud.
The ( soon to be) Graduates take their seats awaiting to hear their name.
The audience gazes out over the sea of mortar-board hats.Everyone looks the same.
As each name is called and they walk across the stage the parents' hearts swell with pride.
This is a day they'll never forget, when this little child is no longer by their side.
Just where did that little child go?
Sometimes you'll still see that child reappear in this beautiful grown-up person you love so.
