For five weeks in a row, singer Katy Perry has topped the charts with her number one single, I Kissed a Girl. The song is being dubbed "song of the summer" by Perez Hilton and is currently # 1 in America, only to be tailed by Rihanna's Take a Bow.

Ryan Cabrera Releases Album Independently


Ashlee Simpson's ex, Ryan Cabrera has released an independent album without the help or support of a major label. The signer's new record is on Papa Joe Records, owned by Joe Simpson (father to Jessica and Ashlee). Cabrera is currently touring with Ferras.

Warrant Issued for Arrest of Pete Doherty

Pete Doherty had a warrant issued for his arrest last week after he failed to show up for a court date. In August of 2007, Doherty reportedly smashed a photographer's camera after she snapped an unwanted picture of him. Doherty has been ordered to pay for the $2,000 camera. Outside of court, Doherty told reporters, "Yeah, it was okay today, it should have been sorted out ages ago to be honest. It's been hanging over me for a long time."

Jonas Brothers Grace Cover of Rolling Stone

The Jonas Brothers are on the cover of the current issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. In a tell-all interview/ article, the brothers reveal exclusively to Rolling Stone everything from girls and guitars to God.

Miley Cyrus Performs on Today Show

Actress, singer and teen queen Miley Cyrus performed on the Today Show, Friday. Cyrus sang her biggest and best singles, as well as songs off of her new album, Breakout. In attendance were more than 13,000 screaming fans, making Today Show history as the largest crowd ever gathered for a concert.

Rolling Stones Move to Universal

Famed rock group, Rolling Stones have signed a contract with Universal Music's Polydor Records, giving the label exclusive rights to the Stone's catalog of over 30 years of hits. Doug Morris of Universal Music Group later said,"There is no question that the Rolling Stones are one of the most important bands in music history,"
