Like any holiday or yearly festivity, Christmas can start to seem like the same old celebration year after year, so coming up with new and creative traditions is a good way to keep the spirits bright and everyone in a festive mood.

After a brief survey of family and friends, I discovered that many people that I know personally have come up with some very creative Christmas traditions to keep the spirit of the holidays fresh and invigorating each year, and with their permission, I have gathered my favorites from all of theirs to share with you all.

To keep the youngest kids on the straight and narrow and reinforce the necessity of behaving, one friend has arranged for the delivery of small bags of Christmas cheer to be delivered to her young brood early in the month of December. The mail arrives and in it is a plain brown envelope filled with assorted bags of Reindeer and Snowman Poop (respectively chocolate covered raisins and marshmallows). The envelope also comes with a letter to the children reminding them that if they hope to get something better than a few bags of poop from jolly old St. Nick come the 25th of the month, they had better improve their behavior.

Takeaways
  • A pre-holiday gift of Snowman poop might make your little ones think twice about behaving
  • Magic Reindeer food will help Santas reindeer find your home on Christmas Eve
  • Be creative with the kids, help them make a gingerbread Nativity
