10.Myspace Addiction: Checking Myspace chronically at home and at work can lead to the alienation of those around you. I was at a party this weekend where the host excused herself to check her Myspace account - She was gone for an hour. When she reemerged from her bedroom half the guests had left. Being a Total bore checks in as the number ten way Myspace can ruin your life.

9.The Job Hunt: People often forget that prospective employers know what Myspace is and regularly check their applicants' Myspace pages before making a job offer. Those pictures of your drunken bikini clad trip to Cancun might cause your prospective boss to see you in a different light than the well groomed, fully clothed professional you presented yourself as during the interview. While first impressions still count, more and more people are realizing page impressions count as well. Too personal for the profession world checks in as the number nine way Myspace can ruin your life

8.Top Friends: Rarely is there an objective way of ranking who are your closest friends. Myspace has changed all that. Gone are the days when you could tell multiple people "you are my very closest friend," with impunity. That case is impossible to make to those who are not ranked number one in your Myspace top eight. No more free beers, rides to airport, pet sitting, or alibis from faux best of best friends is the number eight way Myspace can ruin your life.

7.Browsing Members: "Exactly why were you browsing Females, 21-25, swingers, here for dating?" That's right, Myspace save your last browsing criteria on the computer, not your account. The next person who logs on and selects browse will see exactly who, or what you were looking for. Cruising for a night on the couch slinks in as the number seven way Myspace can ruin your life.

So true! I use myspace, but I also pay attention to people who over use it and it's really unattractive if you ask me. Some people really say, loud and clear: "Look at me everybody! Look at me, I'm cool and witty and original, please pay attention as I disclose every detail and pic of my personal life!" Oh and I can't stand the thousand photos with only one had in them because the other is busy taking all your damn photos! Really, get a life. And you are not cool, even by myspace standards. And if you're looking for a man/woman, a good one will notice that you really have no life/personality if you're on myspace 24/7. It's a turn off to over indulge into anything, including myspace. PS: I never thought about employers searching for your page, yikes! No wonder...I am very political on mine.

people have your own opinions it depends on what you do on your myspace and how you use it

I don't use MySpace. I've heard of how prospective employers check out people's accounts. Scary stuff! Sophie

First off, opinions are opinions; everyone has their own. But I would have to say that I'm pro-choice on this. I do have myspace, but I'm using this as a speech topic. I like myspace, as long as you know what you're doing, and know it won't get you into trouble, I'm quite sure you'll do fine in life while having a myspace account.

LOL! Don't forget what happens when you anger bored people with nothing better to do than acquire your password and fill your MySpace with midget porn.

Well, as the old saying goes "common sense is the least common of human qualities." Sure there are ways around all the pitfalls mentioned on my list; however, five seconds browsing myspace will reveal at least a dozen people with little common sense and less hidden on their profile.

some of these things may be true but for most its just common sense not to get to personal on the internet. duh! plus, they have websites that give you codes to hide top friends, comments, contact table, pictures, ect. so ha!
