The Most Expensive Collectibles Money Can Buy

If you’ve got it, flaunt it right? If you make a ton of cash doing whatever occupation you have chosen why not spend it on some extravagant items. Why not treat yourself to something that costs six digits. If you can afford it go right ahead. Well I don’t have that kind of money, but for those of you who do have cash to burn here are some very expensive collectible items for you to decorate your mansion with. In fact all of these are the most expensive item of that kind.

The Most Expensive Baseball Card
The most expensive card today is the T206 Honus Wagner baseball card. It’s often referred to as the “Holy Grail of baseball cards” or the “Mona Lisa of baseball cards”. Honus Wagner was a star shortstop who played baseball from 1897 to 1917 so the card is pretty valuable to begin with. But its value increases due to the scarcity. At the time baseball cards were produced by tobacco companies and Honus Wagner didn’t want kids to be encouraged to smoke. Wagner requested that his card be halted so the cards that had already been made were the only ones that exist. There are only about 60 copies and very few of them are in mint condition. In July 2000 a T206 Honus Wagner card sold for $1.27 million on eBay.

The Most Expensive Car
The most expensive car is the Bugatti Type 41, better known as the Royale. The Royale is enormous, with a 169 inch wheelbase and 21 ft overall length and weighs approximately 7000 lbs. The Royale was produced just as the world economy began to sour so only six were built between 1929 and 1933 and just three of them were sold. The first was sold to a French clothing manufacturer, the second to a German obstetrician and the third to a wealthy English man. The remaining three stayed within the company including one that Ettore Bugatti kept one for himself. In 1990 one of the Buggatti’s sold for $15 million in Japan.
