Small and Chic or Mega Sized Resorts - Balboa and Newport Beach Have it All

I would like to tell you that my knowledge of hotels in the Balboa Island and Newport Beach area comes from frequent first hand experience. That would not be telling the truth. What I can tell you is that my cousin works for a contractor serving most of the hotels in the area. As he comes in contact with guests almost every day we have put his knowledge together with ours to write this review for you.

Balboa Island, Newport Beach is a place that many people aspire to live, to visit, or even just to drive through after taking the ferry ride. If someone is to ask you what the best hotels near Balboa Island are, there are many great hotels you could mention. If some one asks you what the best over night accommodations on Balboa Island itself are, a lot of people would answer that there are none. They would be incorrect.

There are very few overnight lodging on the island itself. One of them is a hotel / bed and breakfast establishment called the Balboa Island Hotel. My brother has spent New Years Eve there several times. He finds the hotel comfortable, extremely convenient with pleasant staff. The Nouvelle American breakfast is fantastic and the hotel is walking distance from many great places to eat and shop. The hotel is located on Agate Avenue not too far from one of the ferry points. The atmosphere is very casual but the rooms are fantastic and everything you need is provided. They have six rooms which go for $185 per night which includes breakfast. On holidays or special event dates the prices change. Reservations must be made at least 60 days in advance or you won't find rooms available. You can try but make sure you have a back up lodging lined up. This hotel rarely has a vacant room.
