It is especially important for parents to make sure that they pay close attention to our current movie rating system. That is if you feel that your kids should not be exposed to constant sex, and violence. The sad but true fact however, is that the movie rating system has lowered its standards. Certain obscene language that was not allowed years ago is now considered to be acceptable. They are even tolerating more and more nudity in movies than ever before.
You may feel however that since your child is so young and that you only allow them to watch cartoons then you have nothing to worry about. Unfortunately this is where you really need to pay close attention. If you watch some of the new animated movies that have come out, they now allow certain types of languages to be used and even suggested sexual behavior that was once not allowed in children’s movies. So as a parent what must you do to make sure that your child is not exposed to these things? First of all before you allow your child to view any movie, no matter how innocent it may look, you should take the time to read all of the available reviews on the movie. Look into what the movie is all about, and if possibly view the movie yourself, before your child sees it.
