Visiting Dollywood, Tennessee

Dollywood is located in Pigeon Forge, at the gate of the Great Smokey Mountains, just 35 miles southeast of Knoxville, Tennessee. This theme park is ranked one of the 50 best amusement parks in the world.

Dollywood has so much to offer for the entire family. Bring your kids to Dollywood's Kid Fest where they can see an array of different animals at the Creature Adventures show. This show is put on by the Kratt Brothers; stars of the PBS show Zoboomafoo series. 

Also, be on the lookout for the Veggie Tales. You are likely to see Larry the cucumber or Bob the tomato anywhere! They have their own live stage show as well, along with a lot of other kid's fest characters.

Prepare for battle. Climb aboard Dollywood's newest ride, The River Battle. This is a raft ride equipped with water guns. Nine rafts are available, with eight people per raft. The object of the ride is to shoot the opponents in the other rafts with your water guns. So, aim at each other and battle your way through the water. Another fun part of this water raft ride; you get to shoot the observers on the bank with your water guns as well!

Are you ready for some hair rising fun? Ride one or all of the thrilling roller coasters here at Dollywood. Buckle yourself in on the Thunderhead Gap. This 55 MPH wooden roller coaster is high among the trees and, be prepared for a rough ride as you go across the terrain. Close your eyes and get ready for a massive 100 foot drop while going at this speed. This ride is surely one to be remembered.

All this adventure and excitement is sure to make you hungry. Take advantage of the fine southern cooking available at Dollywood, or grab something quick at on of the past food stands they have offer. If you are looking to relax for a bit, fine dining areas are at your service as well.

Before leaving, treat the kids to the largest interactive tree house around. This tree house is full of games to enjoy, as well as a 3-level Beehive with over 50,000 "bee" balls.
