Ludacris Pro Obama Rap Song Stirs Controversy

Another Scary Obama Friend?

It looks like Barack Obama has another scary friend. In this case it is the rap star Ludacris who has just released a pro Barack Obama song called Hillary Clinton a b****, suggests that John McCain be paralyzed, and calls President Bush "mentally handicapped."

Ludacris, no stranger to controversy, has claimed that he is Barack Obama's favorite rapper. Barack Obama has admitted knowing Ludacris. Indeed. Barack Obama has met with Ludacris at least once to talk about young

people and how to empower them shortly after the 2006 midterm elections. They also discussed the AIDS issue.

Ludacris is just the latest person in Barack Obama's orbit who has proven to be an embarrassment to the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee. Others include the fiery preacher at Obama's former church, Jeremiah Wright, former Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers, and convicted felon Tony Rezko.

The lyrics of Ludacris's new song are, mildly putting it, provocative and could be said to be even arrogant:

"Said I handled his biz and I'm one of his favorite rappers

Well give Luda a special pardon if I'm ever in the slammer

Better yet put him in office, make me your vice president"

For those looking for a creative running mate, an Obama/Ludacris ticket would be just the thing. However one suspects that the Obama people do not have Ludacris on their short list. Or their long list for that matter.

Ludacris, who was born Christopher Bridges, is a three time Grammy winner and a well know rap star and actor. Ludacris's music is infamous for its sexually explicit content and its glorification of violence. Because of that, Ludacris has had disputes with critics of his music ranging from Bill O'Reilly to Oprah Winfrey.

Ludacris is no choirboy, but his music is hardly "infamous" for its glorification of violence. please do your hip-hop homework next time.

Grandstanding....appears Ludacris doesn't get enough attention with the garbage he already passes off as "music."

Did Obama(or anyone in his camp) ever comment on Nas' Black President song? He didn't shit on McCain, so I guess they won't acknowledge it(no need for damage control).

As has been mentioned ad nauseum is that rappers are over the top. Part and parcel of any of these things is support for Obama but a healthy helping of attention is reserved for them. These people are suporters true enough but I know that I have some actual friends, not people I pretend I don't know when it's convenient, but actual friends who say some stupid, off the wall, crazy s***. Do I still love them, yes. Do I acknowldege that we may not see eye to eye on evrything, yes. How many of us if all the people we know came out in support of us, would want some of them to go back because they are incovenient. It's a fact of life that every part of it isn't going to be pretty. Rappers are by their very nature controversial and Ludacris, who has seen to be milder, of late, becuase of his acting aspirations may have more than one reasonfor coming out wih this record and trying to garner attention,

Ludacris went way over the top with his lyrics as usual. As an Obama supporter I thought it was complete garbage.

Just because Obama has met Ludacris on one occasion does not mean that they are best buds. Also this idea that you have to endorse every idea every person you've ever met has expressed is a classic Right Wing misdirection. Since, in the 2008 election, the GOP is wrong (according to public polling) on just about every issue, this is all they have. Boy, if only we had this concern in 2000 when an unsuccessful governor of Texas who had flopped at every single in his life ran for president.
