Because a High School Diploma Won't Get You Very Far

Some people have a hard time figuring out why a higher education is so important.  Many think they can make it by working at the local factory, but times are changing and most of those jobs are disappearing.
But, there are other reasons people may not want to seek a higher education.  Many people think it’s a waste of money and time.  Others have seen people spend years working towards a higher education only to end up flipping burgers.  To these people a higher education is very questionable and with good reason.  Others may think that they have the perfect job and that there’s no need to seek higher education, while others feel that they’re too old to seek a higher education.  The excuses are numerous, but there are several good reasons why you should choose to seek a higher education.

More Money:  So you think you have the perfect job?  After all, you’re making pretty good money for the area you’re living in.  You’ve been working at your local factory for five years and are now making around $10 an hour.  But, have you been watching the news lately?  Manufacturers know they can get their products made for mere pennies in foreign countries.  It’s only a matter of time before the factory you’re working for catches on and then what?  Without a higher education, you may find yourself flipping burgers down at the local fast food place or you may find yourself unemployed.  Even if your job is secure, you could be making more than $10 an hour, if you got a higher education.  Depending on the degree you choose, you could see your salary jump $20,000 to $40,000.  That ten dollars an hour doesn’t sound so great now, does it?
