Las Vegas-Themed Movies

There have been many Las Vegas-themed movies. Some of the most popular and top-grossing movies are based around Las Vegas. In this article, I will cover my choices for the top 5 Las Vegas-themed movies.

1) Viva Las Vegas - One of Elvis's most famous movies is Viva Las Vegas. The release date was May 20th 1965. It starred of course Elvis Presley and also starring is Ann Margaret. Elvis plays Lucky Jackson, a race car driver
 preparing to race in the Grand Prix. Elvis works as waiter in Vegas to pay for the engine he needs for the race car. He starts romancing Rusty Martin a beautiful young woman played by Ann Margaret. Like all Elvis movies it is filled with lots of singing by Elvis and some by Ann Margaret. The duo have great chemistry on the screen. Whenever I think about Las Vegas themed movies Viva Las Vegas is the first to come to my mind.

2) Vegas Vacation - The fourth movie in the Chevy Chase series of the Griswolds adventures is Vegas Vacation. The release date was February 14th 1997. Vegas vacation stars Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo and Randy Quaid. Clark played by Chevy Chase gets a bonus for developing a food preservative so the Griswolds head out for a vacation in Vegas. This movie is filled with classic Griswold antics and laughs abound in this classic comedy.

3) Honeymoon in Vegas - Released in 1992 Nicholas Cage plays Jack Singer. Jack promises his Mother that he will never marry. A few years later he goes back on his promise and proposes to his girlfriend played by Sara Jessica Parker. They go to Las Vegas for the wedding. While in Vegas Cage loses $65,000 in a poker game. Tommy Korman played by James Cann offers to clear Jack's debt in exchange for a weekend with Jack's girlfriend.
