One Year on Associated Content

Today marks my one year anniversary of being published on Associated Content. What have I accomplished? What have I written about? What mistakes have I made? What advice would I have for a new Associated Content writer? What is my plan for my next year on Associated Content?

I set off to prove to myself I could write. 104 articles on Associated Content proved I could write. My first article was a recap, analysis of the Houston Astros-Tampa Bay Devil Rays trade of Dan Wheeler for Ty Wigginton. Finding my niche on Associated Content I went on to write over 70 articles on sports. Including the article on the Chicago White Sox picking up Carlos Quentin in an off season trade which ended up being a featured article on Associated Contents sports page. Through the year I branched out into politics, business, news, and attractions.

I have made my share of mistakes on Associated Content. When I write late at night trying to get an article in by its deadline is when I usually make most of my mistakes. My advice is to read your article over or have someone read it over before you submit it. Spell check won't check the titles. Spell check software won't catch words that spell a correct spelled word. Examples of these words include to, too, two, for, fore, four, scene or seen. Keep in mind Associated Content does not edit your articles for typos or misspellings. I try to write my articles in Word and then paste into Associated Content. I do this so I can get a word count, my spell check, and I am not out of luck if I lose my article on the Associated Content page.
