When I was fourteen years old my family took our first vacation to Disney World. Waiting in the lobby while my parents made reservations, I saw a beautiful bride descend the intricate staircase towards me. In a land full of princesses, it was something special to see a real one. Surrounded by her giddy bridesmaids, her photographer had no trouble capturing her exhuberant image. Sitting in front of the scene, I watched with a grin on my face, struck by the difference between this wedding and every other wedding I had been to. Truly, it was Disney magic at work. Hidden in the center of select flowers in her bouquet were tiny crystal mickeys that matched the jewels on her necklace. They caught the light from the chandelier and glimmered brightly. It was as if this very hotel were her palace instead of merely a vacation destination.

When the time came for the bride to go, I ghasped. Outside of the hotel was a white pumpkin-shaped coach pulled by six magnificent white horses. The glass doors were opened by her very own coachmen, dressed in a white old-fashioned costume fitting for this Cinderella bride. It was right then that I knew I wanted to be married at Disney. Sure, anyone can get a carriage for their own wedding, but would they have the backdrop of Cinderella's castle in the distance?

If you haven't quite decided where to have your wedding yet, consider the following: what you want the most, attendence, and cost. Start with what you want the most. For example, do you have to have an ornate floral package? Do you definetly want to have your wedding videotaped professionally? Those are just some of the questions you are going to have to think about.

Next, look at attendence. Is it important for Uncle John to be there? Do you have an absolute minimum of eighty people that need to be there? Will these eighty people be willing to travel the distance to attend your wedding? If you're worried about etiquitte, then I'll offer you a solution. It is NOT considered proper etiquitte to fly all your guests to your out of town wedding. You can opt to do it if you like, but remember that it is not necessary.
