This simple and fun Christmas craft is a great way to incorporate your favorite Christmas carols into your Christmas decorations. Have the kids make one of these simple Christmas carol garlands together to save a little time. It is a fun group project because there is a lot to cut out, trace, and make in this simple Christmas craft project!

To Make a Christmas Carol Garland For Your Tree You Will Need:

The words to your favorite Christmas carol
Scissors
Exacto Knife
Markers
Foam Core Board
Twine or yarn
Tapestry Needle
Stencil or traceable letters

The first step is to find the words to your favorite Christmas Carol. You can find them online or even write them down on a piece of notebook paper.

Now, for the letters I like to use a stencil of some great looking font. You could also trace magnetic alphabet letters from the fridge, trace out your own free hand, or even use the kids own handwriting. To use this last method, just take your kids schoolwork to Kinko’s. Have it blown up to size and then cut the letters out. You can now trace them!

Now, go ahead and lay out your foam core board. You can buy this by the sheet at almost any arts and craft store. It is the perfect material to cut out your Christmas carol words. All you need to do is lay out your letters and then trace them on with a magic marker. I like to use a marker that is close in color to the foam core board. This will make the finished Christmas craft product look better. You can use any color marker, you just will need to be careful when cutting the letters out.

Now, once the Christmas Carol craft letters are traced out you can use an exacto knife to cut them out. You could also use heavy duty scissors. Either way will work.

Now, once the letters are cut out I like to cit out some fun crafty Christmas shapes from some more foam core board in a different color. So, if you did all of your Christmas Carol Words in Red, you could cut out some small yellow stars from the foam core board. Make them about ¼ as tall as your letters. You will use these Christmas shapes when you go to assemble the Christmas Carol garland.
