New England Destinations: Chicago's Caravan Tours

Chicago's Caravan Tours offer tours of areas for a great price, allowing you to explore the world a bit more as a guided tour. Travelers can choose from the California Coast to Costa Rican getaway.

Last year I had the chance to book a caravan trip to New England and saw the beautiful colours of the fall located in the northern east coast. Beginning in Boston, the trip took us to Vermont, New Hampshire, all the way to Maine to enjoy some of the best sights as well as seafood.

The price for one of these trips is rather cheap compared to other travel packages, which is one reason why Caravan Tours is one of the most respectable companies in the U.S. For a little more than $1,000, you will have an 8 day vacation with some of the best accommodations. Travelers should know however that airfare is not included and will need to make their own arrangements for arrival.

For the price paid, you will get to stay at top hotels such as the Hilton in Boston, the starting point, and Mystic Hotel, located in Connecticut. Each hotel is very well kept up and offers some of the best service around. The price also includes ten meals, most of which are breakfast, and a handful of dinners. The rest is up to the traveler.

Beginning in Boston, the tour will take you to Martha's Vineyard. You can relax for a short time on a ferry to the island. Time is provided to shop and visit the city. There is exquisite art to be seen as well.

During the Caravan Tour, travelers will get to see beautiful mountains along with historic sites, such as where President Kennedy was married and where President Coolidge took the office.

Perhaps my personal favorite part of the tour was towards the end, where we venture from Vermont to New Hampshire. Stopping in Woodstock was breath taking as its been said to be one of the prettiest sites in the country. The fall colours were vibrant in all shades of reds, yellows and browns.

The final major destination was in Maine, where we enjoyed some top of the line seafood and saw waters rushing against stone. Of all places to visit in the U.S., if you're looking for peace and calm, Portland Maine is the place to see.
