Continuing Montauk Monster Speculation Highlights Government Mistrust

On Thursday, the Director of the Plum Island Animal Research facility unequivocally stated that the Montauk Monster was not associated with the Long Island-based laboratory. Dr. Larry Barrett said in a statement that while he could not identify the animal from a picture, he guessed it

might be a cat or raccoon judging from its canine teeth. Sandy Hays Miller of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), which operates a lab at the DHS-run Plum Island facility confirmed that the Montauk Monster was not USDA property.

These assertions by government experts familiar both with animal research and with the Plum Island facility might have laid to rest speculation about the Montauk Monster. Except they didn't.

Despite the rational explanation offered by Dr. Barrett, the internet is abuzz for the third day running with speculation about the Montauk Monster's origins. Some simply do not believe the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and USDA are trustworthy and continue to suspect animal experimentation despite what seem to be credible denials.

One writer who used the pseudonym X-Files commented yesterday on an Associated Content Montauk Monster article: "...Of course the government experiments on hybrid animals. With all the pc of the public they would never let you in on the secret program anyway. The creature hands were tied in order to drown it and some how it got washed ashore. Now we can see what our tax money is going into. Don't be surprise if you begin to see more hybrids maybe even humanoid!"

It's a dead pig that's been in the water too long. Do a google on pig and skull and you'll see that it looks like a pot belly based on where the nose flesh has gone and those tusks.
