How to Create Reflection Text in Photoshop for Beginners

Step 1

Open your Photoshop program and let it load. Next you will need to create a new canvas. Click File > New at the top of your Photoshop window. Make your canvas about 500 pixels x 500 pixels. Select a white background and click OK.

Step 2

Click on the Type Tool on your Toolbar. Draw a rectangle with the type tool across your canvas, large enough to type your text. You can use any font that you want. To change the font size, color, or size go to the top of your Photoshop window and you can change it up there. Once you have gotten the text options the way you want them, type what you want in the rectangle.

Step 3

In your Layers Panel you will see two layers, background and type layer. Click on the type layer to highlight it. Now right click on the highlighted layer and click Duplicate Layer.

Step 4

Click one time on your Duplicate Layer to highlight it. Now right click on the layer and click Rasterize Type from the pop up box.

Step 5

Go to the top of your Photoshop window and click Edit > Free Transform. Now you will see a box around your text. Grab the top middle square and pull it straight down below your text until you see your text upside down. Please see image two if you don't understand what I'm saying. This part can be a little hard to put into words.

Go back to the top of your Photoshop window and click Edit > Transform > Perspective. Now you will see a box around your text that is upside down. Click on the bottom right corner and pull the box to your right a little. Please see image three to see what I am talking about.
