Ahh, it is that time of year again. That time of year college students all across the country dread at the end of each semester - finals week. The books begin flying, the study groups gather, and caffeine becomes the one thing that can not be lived without. I, like most college student, love my caffeine, but I am always searching for new and exciting ways to get my fix of the good stuff. Here are just a few ways to get the most out of your caffeine this year's final week.
As always there is the good ol' espresso. After a while, your body might need a little something other then just the espresso. A Strong Kick to the Back of the Head is simply a cup of coffee with six shots of espresso added. Believe me this one will really wake you up and get you going! If you do not want to drink it straight (it does tend to be a little strong), you can always add sugar and cream. Yummy!

My brother will swear to eating coffee beans straight out of the bag. This idea works because you can eat them all at once, or you can carry them with you and pop a few in your mouth at any given time. The trick to this one is actually getting a well roasted bean. My favorite beans come from Fresh Beanz Coffeehouse. Fresh Beanz is out of Fort Smith, Arkansas, but you can purchase their beans for yourself on the website (http://freshbeanz.com/). For an extra jolt, eat a handful of coffee beans before drinking your normal cup of coffee. Twice the caffeine in half the time! If just a plain coffee bean is too strong for your taste buds, you can buy the chocolate covered coffee beans. A sweet twist and would work just as well.

Another way to get the most out of your caffeine fix is a little something I like to call Loaded Dr. Pepper. My husband tried this and was up for three days! Simply take a spoon of your grounded coffee beans (again a good idea to get a well roasted bean), put it in your mouth, and chase it down with an entire can of Dr. Pepper (or you can substitute the Dr. Pepper for your favorite pop or energy drink).

Whatever your method of getting the most out of your caffeine, I wish you good luck on those finals. Happy studying!

Takeaways
  • Strong Kick to the Back of the Head: six shots of espresso in one cup of joe.
  • Straight or chocolate covered coffee beans.
  • Loaded Dr. Pepper: spoon full of coffee grounds followed by one can of Dr. Pepper.

This is good guide... if you want to screw yourself up... Excessive cramming is not the answer, if you want to be prepared you go to bed on time and spend your extra hours full throttle. Staggering because you pulled an all nighter or 3 am study succession is just dumb. Besides, the caffiene makes you dependent on it. It makes you dehyrated and sends your body into overdrive. College people wonder why they feel like crap is because they chemically push their bodies to the braking point -staying up late =using caffiene to make up for bad habits -doing anything to get a buzz Caffiene makes your body go into a flight or fight response, added with intense study, then intense tests, your kidneys and adrenline glands and many other functions are getting wear for no reason. Getting a good grade in college is not about killing yourself with chemicals, just be diligant and hit the books correctly, then you won't need all this crap which will screw ya over. The only argument i h

Ha! Love this article. That is hilarious. I'd usually indulge in a Yoohoo with Dr. Pepper chaser during finals personally. :-) Angela <><
